Electropin manufactures PCB pin terminals in lead-free brass and stainless steel. Lead-free brass provides excellent electrical conductivity and is the most common choice for connector applications. Stainless steel is selected where higher mechanical strength or corrosion resistance is required. Custom material options may also be discussed during the DFM consultation process.

Electropin offers four primary retention features: Star, Tabs/Spline, Inscribed Square, and Flat. The Star feature can expand pin diameter by up to 50% over the base wire diameter, providing high pull-out resistance. Tabs and Spline features deliver anti-rotation performance. The right retention geometry depends on whether the pin is press-fit into metal, inserted into plastic, or mounted through a PCB.
