Mounting in PCB refers to the method used to attach pins or components to a circuit board. The two main types are through-hole mounting, where a pin lead is inserted into a drilled hole and soldered on the opposite side, and press-fit mounting, where interference-fit retention features such as stars or splines mechanically lock the pin into the hole without solder — making it ideal for high-vibration environments.
