The M12 connector format supports 2 to 17 pins depending on the coding variant (A, B, D, S, T, X, etc.). The number of pins is determined by the application — for example, A-coded M12 connectors commonly use 4 or 5 pins for sensors, while D-coded variants use 4 pins for Ethernet.
